3rd Annual Car Show

Middleborough’s American Legion Post 64 hosted its third annual car show at the Hannah B.G. Shaw Home for the Aged on Sunday, July 28, 2013. Owners brought their vehicles ranging from a Model A to a 1973 corvette, and everything in between, and showed them off. Car aficionados, general spectators, along with residents and staff of the Home enjoyed music, refreshments, and food, while they appreciated the machinery and the vehicular elegance before them.

“Despite the weather, we had a good turn out,” said Don Triner, Commander of the American Legion Post 64.

There were approximately thirty cars entered in this year’s show. In peer judging, the “Best of Show” went to a 1961 blue and white Chevy Corvette owned by Ceasar Montrond of Middleborough. Ken Wyman’s 1970 red coupe Chevy Chevelle won the American Legion Trophy; and the Shaw Home Trophy was awarded to Christine Anderson for her 1928, 2 door sedan, Model A.

“Our residents enjoy this annual event,” remarked Kristine Donnelly Administrator of The Shaw Home, “We look forward to being a part of next year’s show.”
